Learn More About Our Online Driving Program

Embark on a comprehensive online driver's education journey, encompassing a minimum of thirty (30) hours of instruction with the classes we offer at AA Plus Driving School. Delve into essential topics such as alcohol safety, drug abuse awareness, aggressive driving, distracted driving, pedestrian and bicycle safety, handicapped parking, fuel-efficient driving practices, motorcycle awareness, and organ and tissue donation awareness, fulfilling legal requirements.

To enroll, you must be at least 15 years and six months old. If you elect to take the classroom component of the driver education course online, you must take the online course through a DMV-licensed driver training school. Home-schooled students are exempt from this requirement. Maximize your learning experience by possessing the ability to work independently and navigate computer-based instruction confidently.

Registering and Beginning Our Online Educational Course

Gear up for your driving education journey by completing the following process:

  • Register with the driving school and make your payment
  • Receive an email from the driving school containing the username, password, and link to enter the course. You may also click here to access it
  • If you do not receive the email within an hour, check your "Spam" or "Junk" folder
  • Begin the online course as instructed

The course offers complete flexibility, allowing you to progress at your own pace, with or without feedback from AA Plus Driving School. Monitoring your progress, the driving school may reach out if your advancement is deemed insufficient. As a student, it is mandatory to finish all sections or modules of the course, including the end-of-section or module tests. In the event of not passing a test, you will be prompted to revisit the materials and retake the test, a process that can be repeated several times until you achieve success. This ensures a thorough understanding of the material and mastery of the course content.

If you have questions at any point, feel free to give us a call.

Taking the Final Exam at AA Plus Driving School's Testing Site

After you have completed the entire course, you'll need to come to the driving school for your final examination. We will provide a computer for testing, but you must bring the following:

  • Photo identification, such as a DMV-issued identification card, school-issued identification card, valid passport, or military identification
  • Proof of completion of the online driver education course
  • A completed "Parental Consent for Online Driver Education Examination" (DTS 62) if you are under the age of 18
  • Proof of completion of the additional 90-minute parent or teen course if you are under age 18 and live in Planning District 8 (counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William; and cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Manassas, and Manassas Park). If you do not have the 90-minute parent or teen course, please contact AA Plus Driving School in advance, and we will arrange that at the driving school for you

The final exam, taken in the presence of the licensed instructor, is closed books and closed notes. You may not use other internet browsers while taking the test. Once completed, you will receive your results. If you pass, you may now continue with the behind-the-wheel portion of the course. If you do not pass the final exam, you may not retake the exam on the same day, and you must come the following day or any day from there on for another attempt.
